City Water Systems

Municipal water in the Twin Cities is treated and safe, but it typically carries hardness minerals plus chlorine or chloramine disinfectant. These systems soften and filter every tap in the house.

Well Water Systems

Private wells in Minnesota commonly carry iron, manganese and hardness, and in some areas hydrogen sulfide. Final well configuration depends on a water test — we review that with you by phone.

How it works

Send us the competing written quote. We compare equipment, capacity and installation scope. If it's comparable and lower, we beat it, and you get priority booking on the schedule.

The MSP approach

Problem. Cause. Correct Treatment.

We match equipment to the water problem you actually have. Not a generic box for every house on the street.

Problem
Hard Water

Scale, spots, buildup on fixtures and appliances.

Correct treatment
10% Crosslinked Resin

Ion exchange removes the calcium and magnesium responsible for hardness.

Problem
Chlorine / Chloramine

Taste, odor and municipal disinfectant.

Correct treatment
Jacobi Catalytic Carbon Tank

Selected specifically because it treats chloramine as well as free chlorine.

Problem
Well Iron & Sulfur

Staining, metallic taste, rotten-egg odor.

Correct treatment
Oxidation + Filtration

Air oxidation for iron and manganese; hydrogen peroxide injection for sulfur odor and heavy iron.

Problem
Drinking Water

Dissolved solids and unwanted taste.

Correct treatment
Reverse Osmosis

A dedicated under-sink membrane system for the water you drink and cook with.

Built for Minnesota water

Systems Sized for the Water Under Your Feet, Not a National Average.

Water in Minnesota has a personality: hard, often iron-rich, and disinfected on the way to city taps. Our two system lines exist because of it.

  • Hard groundwater is the default here

Minnesota groundwater is generally hard. That's why softening is the foundation of most Twin Cities systems.

  • City water is disinfected

Municipal utilities in the Twin Cities use chlorine or chloramine. Catalytic carbon is chosen because it treats both.

  • Wells bring iron and manganese

Both occur naturally in Minnesota groundwater. They need oxidation and filtration, not just a softener.

  • Installed by a local team

Twin Cities-based, open 24 hours, serving Greater Minnesota. Travel fees may apply beyond 35 miles from Minneapolis.

FAQ

Questions Homeowners Ask

Do you come to my home for a consultation?
Consultations are phone calls: you call or text us, we set a time and call you, go over your water and your home, recommend the right system at its published price and set your installation date. In-home presentations are available on request. Either way, the only required visit is the installation itself.
How much does a whole-home system cost?
Every price is published on our pricing page. Whole-home city systems run $2,999 to $4,499 and well systems $4,499 to $5,999, with a reverse osmosis drinking-water system included free. Reverse osmosis on its own is $799 for the tank system or $999 for the tankless HW800 AlkaPro, a pre-sediment filter is $399 and a UV purifier is $899. Financing options are available, and travel fees may apply beyond 35 miles from Minneapolis.
What is the difference between filtration and softening?
A water softener uses ion exchange to remove calcium and magnesium hardness. Carbon filtration targets different problems, mainly chlorine and chloramine taste and odor. They solve different things, which is why our whole-home city systems combine both.
Do I need a different system for well water?
Usually, yes. City-water treatment focuses on hardness and municipal disinfectants. Private wells often also carry iron, sulfur, manganese and sediment, which need oxidation and filtration that a softener alone cannot handle. We keep the two system lines separate so you never pay for equipment your water does not need.
What does reverse osmosis do?
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semipermeable membrane that rejects a broad range of dissolved solids, then delivers the treated water to a dedicated faucet at your kitchen sink. It is a point-of-use system for drinking and cooking water, not a whole-home system, which is why we pair it with whole-home treatment.
Tank RO or tankless RO — what's the difference?
A tank system slowly fills a pressurized storage tank so purified water is ready instantly. A tankless system treats water on demand, takes up far less under-sink space and has no storage tank. The tank system is $799 and the tankless HW800 AlkaPro is $999 on their own. With any whole-home system, the tank RO is included free and the tankless is a $200 upgrade.
